EMBO Long-Term fellowships are initially awarded for 12 months. It is possible to get an extension to a maximum period of two years. In order to apply for the second year of fellowship, the Supervisor has to send a letter to the fellowships office at least nine months after the start of the fellowship but not later than six weeks before the end of the first year. It is the fellow's responsibility to make sure that the supervisor sends this letter to EMBO Fellowship office.
